The University of Connecticut (UConn) women's basketball team has booked their ticket to the Final Four after a thrilling 80-73 victory over the top-seeded University of Southern California (USC) Trojans in the Elite Eight on Monday.
With this win, the Huskies extended their record-breaking winning streak to 15 games and solidified their status as one of the favorites for the National Championship.
The game was a hard-fought battle, with USC giving UConn a run for their money. However, the Huskies' experience and depth proved to be too much for the Trojans in the end.
Leading the charge for UConn was Aaliyah Edwards, who finished with a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds. Lou Lopez Sénéchal added 18 points, while Ayanna Patterson and Dorka Juhász each chipped in with 10 points.
USC was led by Rayah Davis, who scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Kadi Sissoko added 16 points for the Trojans.
The Huskies will now face off against the winner of the Louisville Cardinals and Tennessee Volunteers in the Final Four on Friday, March 31st.
