Greggs Fans Say They Wont Be Caught Wearing New Baked In Gold Sausage Roll Earrings

Greggs fans left floored by new 'baked in gold' sausage roll earrings

Fans hailed the 'true passion' of the new jewellery as a petition was launched demanding Greggs open a bakery in Cornwall

Shoppers have been going wild for the new 'baked in gold' sausage roll earrings created by Greggs.

The pastry-shaped studs are part of a Greggs collaboration with award-winning artisan jewellery designer Tatty Devine. They're 24 carat gold-plated and have already been hailed by fans as 'true passion'.

Other shoppers were also quick to point out the earrings are the perfect size to rescue someone who gets lost in a hedge.

Meanwhile a petition has been launched urging Greggs to end its north-south bakery divide and open a store in Cornwall.

Cornish Greggs fan Liam Garland set up the petition after visiting Bristol and being 'blown away' by the amount of choice.

He said: "Being from Cornwall I'm not used to seeing Greggs and didn't understand how magnificent they truly are."

His online plea has been signed by more than 600 people.

In response a Greggs spokesperson said: "We're always looking for new locations to bring our tasty treats to and will take on board the views of Cornish Greggs fans."

Cornwall's notorious pasty wars saw Greggs close its stores in the region after being driven out by furious locals.

The firm was accused of selling "inferior" products and accused of "taking the heart and soul from our communities".

But now the Cornish appear to have a change of heart - and are demanding Greggs opens a new outlet before they miss out again.
