P Diddy Arrested
Hip-Hop Mogul Arrested on Assault and Gun Charges
Sean Combs, better known as P Diddy, was arrested on Wednesday, June 29, following an alleged altercation in Los Angeles. Law enforcement sources say the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the affluent neighborhood of Holmby Hills.
Charges and Allegations
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Combs is facing four charges: assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, possession of a firearm with intent to assault, and discharging a firearm.
The alleged victim, a 30-year-old man, reported to police that he had been involved in a verbal argument with Combs that escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Combs is accused of striking the man with a kettlebell and then brandishing a gun and threatening to shoot him.
Arrest and Investigation
Responding officers arrived on the scene and arrested Combs. A search of his home reportedly yielded a firearm that matched the description given by the alleged victim.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no further details have been released by the LAPD at this time. Combs was released on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 23.
Previous Legal Issues
This is not the first time Combs has faced legal troubles. In 2015, he was acquitted of weapons possession charges after a knife was found in his car following a traffic stop.
P Diddy is a prominent figure in the music industry, having founded the record label Bad Boy Records and producing some of the most successful hip-hop artists of all time, including The Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey, and Mary J. Blige.
